About the Author
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cheyenne McCray writes the Night Tracker novels and the Armed and Dangerous series, among others. She grew up on a ranch in southeastern Arizona. Lot's of heat and action

This a very good romantic suspense. I enjoyed the story and the hot romance. The author did a great deal of research and I liked that she followed the rules of the U S Marshall's Office. So many authors take to much priviledge with the truth and become somewhat unbelievable. So it was nice to see that this story followed protocol.
Ani King was a museum curator until she watched Dmitry Borenko kill her family. She was shot and left for dead but managed to get out a window with her sister's body when they set the house on fire. Her father had been involved with the Russian Mob. When he tried to get out Dmitry pulled a gun and shot him between the eyes and then shot Ani her mother and her sister. Ani is now in the WITSEC program and as the trial date nears she makes a decision that reveals her whereabouts to the mob.
Deputy Marshall Daniel Parker has been her contact for the last year and when he calls to tell her it is time to get ready to go for the trial, she tells him what she has done. He immediately heads out to get her and see her to New York. The mob has covered the airports and they have people hunting her as they speak. Daniel barely gets to her in time and then they have to dodge bullets. Just getting to New York is a major undertaking.
Daniel knows he is not supposed to get involved with his witness, nevertheless, he finds himself falling for Ani. Ani has been in love with Daniel for some time. The action is intense, the story is good, and I liked the romance. However, there was a bit more bedroom action than I needed. If it gets a bit too hot you can skip a few pages like I did. Still it's a good story and a good read.

Ani King has spent the last two years hiding from her old life under The Witness Security Program. She is within days of testifying when a needy family has her taking a risk and making a phone call. Now Ani is on the run again but this time towards her old life. At least this time she has her marshal with her. Now if she can just forget about the needs that come up every time Ani looks or thinks about him.
Daniel Parker is the deputy marshal assigned to Ani when she was first put into the program. During one of his normal calls, Daniel discovers what Ani has done and knows that she is in danger again. Ani has been more than just an assigned job to Daniel for quite awhile now.
Daniel and Ani have to get across the country in time for her court hearing while preventing the Russian mafia from finding them. Even with danger and death coming at them from every angle, Daniel and Ani can't prevent their feelings from taking over even knowing it's breaking the rules. Protection is Daniel's job and keeping Ani safe is all Daniel can worry about for now. The mafia is getting desperate. Will Daniel and the US Marshals be enough to get Ani to court on time?
Moving Target takes readers into the secrecy of The Witness Security Program both before and after the court hearing. Ani saw her family murdered and is the government's eyewitness. Daniel was assigned to keep Ani safe and grounded while she waited to testify. They both felt attraction when they first met and the phone calls just fed it. I could feel Ani's terror of what was happening around her and Daniel's need to keep her safe. When Daniel and Ani let that attraction go, their passion was flaming. Moving Target has a combination of danger that keeps you on the edge, hot passion and heady suspense of not only will they make it but what will happen to Daniel and Ani afterwards. Ms. McCray has delivered suspense for readers who like to have some danger and adventure with their romance.

A sexy and suspenseful Moving Target

Ani is in the witness protection program for witnessing the murder of her family by the Russian mafia. Her father had been involved in the Russian mafia and was trying to get out. Ani came across documents that she was going to confront her father with but ended up seeing them shoot her father, mother, and sister. They also set a fire to their house and Ani was badly burned on her back in addition to the shot to her shoulder.
Fast forward to two years later and Ani is living in a small town and has a new identity. She is waiting to testify against the Russian mafia who murdered her family. One phone call to her past life puts her life in danger and the Russian mafia will stop at nothing to see that she never testifies.
Her guardian angel is her Deputy Marshal, Daniel, who has been there for since the beginning. He calls her weekly to see how she is doing and they have become close friends. He is there for her when everything comes crashing down and is there to get her safely to the trial only a few days away. They can't ignore the chemistry between them and fall for each other even under the circumstances.
The story keeps you suspense as the Deputy Marshals try to get Ani back to NY to testify. They keep running into obstacles and danger at every turn and they are kept on the run until the trial. Will they survive so she can testify and get justice for her family?
The action is non stop and the chemistry is hot between the Ani and Daniel. It is a forbidden love that could cost Daniel his career. He is supposed to be protecting Ani not getting emotionally and physically involved with her. She is going to disappear with a new identity after the trial is over. What will happen to them after this is all over?
Cheyenne McCray gives us an exciting romantic suspense novel that you will definitely want to pick up.
