New Characters same romance
By Jessie Potts
I have to say that I devoured this book in one night and was left wondering.... haven't I read this before?

Here you decide...

Two people are falling in love, the marrying kind of love that is ;) when the man is 'killed.' Now the woman is left to rebuild her life, but she is almost destroyed doing it, she misses her lover and how safe he made her feel. They knew everything about each other, wait didn't she sense a 'darker' side to him that he never unleashed but she secretly craved?

Next the man who was killed is reborn to a different identity and signed his soul away to a special secret organization, but wait... oh no! His woman (former woman) is in the middle of a case and is in trouble! He will risk his identity and love to protect her. While posing as her lover he actual gets back in to her bed for real. She is a woman and has these... womanly instincts, and so she knows it's her former lover! He wasn't killed! That bastard! But wait no I'm sure he has a good reason! She love him!

Then all hell breaks loose, followed by breaking out of that hell, followed by heart wrenching good byes, followed by everything working out.

So is it....

a.) Hidden Agendas? (no he didn't 'die' but he still left her)

b.) Wild Card?

c.) Heat Seeker?

You know what? I'm gonna let you answer.

This elite ops book lacks some heat
By Deborah V
The elite ops are a team of operations specialists who have all "died" and been "reborn" by Jorden Malone's efforts (team leader).

Heat Seeker is the code name for John Vincent who rose from the ashes or death of former Australian Secret Intelligence agent Trent Daylen. Before his "death" Daylen had been involved in an operation with Bailey Serborne, a CIA operative. The op ended and they spent one night together before Trent was blown up. Enter Malone who saves his life.

Both Bailey and John are on the trail of a domestic terrorist called Warbucks, an assassin she suspects murdered her parents and best friend and a man the elite ops team is tracking because he is selling weapons to the enemy.

Bailey has quit the CIA and presents herself as going rogue in order to draw Warbucks out. She and John meet up in Aspen where they both have identified four men as potential candidates to be Warbucks.

This sums up the plot. The book was disappointing to me in that the plot was convoluted, I guessed the identity of Warbucks almost right away, the steamy romance scenes often seemed to be manufactured for steam rather than plot advancement, and the book had very very poor editing. In fact as I was slogging through the book there were a few moments where I thought Leigh wrote the steamy scenes first and then crafted the plot around them. Here Bailey and John are in high danger most of the time, off in a country house that has cameras and bugs and whatever all over--and they can't keep their hands off of each other.

[...] Editing issues include:
* towards the end of the book Mary evidently becomes Jules. And if not, who is Jules? I found myself thumbing back through the book thinking I had forgotten the name in my boredom as I plodded through it.
* Bailey's last name was spelled differently twice I believe. Serbourne and Serborne.
* If I'm correct when Leigh adds 1 plus 5 she gets 5 instead of 6 (number of years Trent/John had been dead
* Missing quotation marks and some other grammatical issues

[...] It would give the plot more credibility and bring more depth to the stories.

Stinks.

New co-author, who obviously didn't read the previous books. No mention of key events and several supporting characters are missing. WAY too much preaching on global warming. Kills off a major character unnecessarily. Obviously the new author wants to establish his own story line, but JEEZ! Coonts should have stuck to DeFelice as coauthor. I'm less than halfway through and it's debatable whether I'll bother to finish. I really enjoyed the previous Deep Black books, but I doubt I'll bother with another. This is a real loser!

Completely out of sync with the series. I had to put it down after 100 pages.
By R. benedikter
I like to read series of books from an author, as I like the continuity of characters. I stuck with Patterson although he sometimes has weird co-authors who mess up the development of a favorite character.
This one, however, was just too much even for a fan.
No more Deep Black for me. I refuse to even finish this book which I have been looking forward to. The changing between different scenes does not work well, and killing off a main character was a bad, and unfortunately irreversible choice.
The "scientific" arguments about Global Warming made me cringe - so badly were they phrased, irrespective of their credibility.
Maybe one of these days Coonts will pickup "his" book and read the first few pages. I hope he will learn from his mistake and dave his other characters from further damage.

The Navy's most sophisticated destroyer, the USS Barrett carries a top-secret computer that can pilot an unmanned ship and send it into battle. As the weapons officer charged with its first mission Lieutenant Dan Lenson has a chance to make naval history.

But when the system develops a sinister virus and a sailor takes his own life amid ugly allegations, Lenson finds himself caught in a web of betrayal. Now, on the treacherous Windward Passage between the U.S. and Cuba, he'll undergo the ultimate test of honor and faith-- one that could cost him his career, his ship, and even his life.

From Publishers Weekly
Poyer's powerful fourth adventure featuring U.S. Naval officer Dan Lenson (The Circle, etc.) opens aboard a doomed submarine off Siberia, then focuses on Lenson's new assignment on the newly commissioned USS Barrett, which is bound for Guantanamo Bay for a shakedown and training mission. The Barrett is a troubled ship, not least because of the suspected homosexuality of Commander Thomas Leighty, and her troubles worsen with the loss overboard of a gay crewman whose diary implicates the captain. Meanwhile, Lenson isn't in such good shape himself. With his marriage broken and his career tottering on the brink of disaster (these events are chronicled in previous books), he is emotionally shattered and prone to excessive drinking. When the Barrett is sidetracked on a rescue mission to aid a flotilla of Cuban refugee vessels caught in violent seas, Lenson's path crosses briefly with that of pregnant refugee Graciela Gutierrez. In the book's most dramatic and moving passages, as Gutierrez gives birth during a horrendous storm, Lenson begins to regain his moral compass. The complex main plot, which also involves espionage, isn't resolved until a mutinous confrontation just off the Cuban shore; and even then, most readers of this stirring tale will be sorry to see it end.
Copyright 1994 Reed Business Information, Inc.

From Booklist
This fourth of Poyer's excellent Dan Lenson novels deals, not unexpectedly, with the naval officer hero's experience aboard a Spruance-class destroyer in the Caribbean. Lenson comes to this ship, a brand-new one with a highly automated weapons system, in the wake of the breakup of his marriage. As if this were not heavy enough baggage to port, he quickly encounters a sailor's suicide, a gay commanding officer, sabotage of the computer systems, being cast adrift in a homemade boat with a refugee Cuban woman giving birth, a rescue by a Russian destroyer, a whole shipload of Cuban refugees, a riot in Miami, and--climactically--mutiny, murder, and confrontation with the same Russian destroyer. Poyer balances hardware description and an extremely well drawn cast of characters with enormous skill. He handles the subplot concerning the voyage of the Cuban refugees particularly well. He makes one hope this is not the last Dan Lenson novel, all the more because the first four together constitute one of the outstanding bodies of nautical fiction in English during the last half-century. Great Book, Kindle edition full of typeset errors.
By Johnny F.
Poyer is never disappointing. As a retired sailor, his books often make the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Civilians will likely struggle a bit with Navy jargon, but Poyer makes it easy to understand through context.

NOTE: The kindle edition is full of typographical errors. While each of the Dan Lenson novels have a few, this particular book is pretty badly typed from the first few pages.

Passage
By A Customer
This book eventually rewards a patient reader, but it's quite an ordeal to get there.
Poyer is using the device here of an unpleasant character who learns and grows through his experiences in the story. Dan Lenson, the hero, is shallow and unable to engage meaningfully with others. One of the themes of the book is the process by which he learns to connect with his fellow human beings. But it takes a long time, and he's a jerk for much of the story.
In a year I make to be about 1981, the USS Barrett is an experimental warship with a computer program that can fight the ship essentially in autopilot. Lenson is an officer on the ship. Not only are there severe technical problems with the computer system, but there are various rumblings of discontent within the crew. This plot thread is interspersed with the story of Graciela, a pregnant Cuban woman who tries to escape the island in a refugee boat. The plot develops slowly, and though the climactic portions are exciting, they take a long time to show up. Because of the year, some of the plot seems dated, as when the computer whiz figures out what a computer virus is: realistic for the time, but not very exciting from the perspective of 2002 (the book having been published in 1995).
Poyer was exploring the issue of homophobia here, and so the reader has to sit through lengthy revelations of ugly bigotry on the part of various characters. While the dirty stories and nasty attitudes are no doubt realistic, they weren't fun to read. Likewise, though the main antagonist, Harper, is believable in his ugly sexism and crudity, I didn't enjoy reading about him. Eventually, Poyer comes across with a genuinely heroic homosexual character, but as with other aspects of the book, the reader has to suffer for a long time first. It's a meaningful issue and I think that to portray it realistically some ugliness is necessary, because that's an accurate representation of people's attitudes, but it got hard to keep turning the pages at some points.
The last quarter of the book is a good, page-turning adventure story. Getting there, though, may not be worth the time.

Great novel in all senses, even in the literary one.
By roberto.causo@dks.com.br
This is the fourth instalment in the saga of Navy officer Dan Lenson, started with *The Circle*, but it seems to be set before the actions of *The Gulf*, and right after *The Med*. Lenson is now a lieutenant abord destroyer USS *Barrett*, working as weapons officer. The newly built destroyer has a new computer system that enables her to operate in a crowded battlefield as a robot war machine, but since the beginning of trainings at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the computer system starts to present problems and the reader feels that there might be a sabotage act going on. Poyer first-hand understanding of Navy things and proceedings, and perhaps also his experience as a science fiction writer, give a lot of credibility to the computer-virus plot and computer warfare situations. Meanwhile there is a homossexual situation going on on *Barrett*, and that is triggered by the suicide of a crewman and the discovery of his diary, in which he claims to have had sexual intercourse with the ship's skipper, commander Leighty. The "gay plot" resounds with Lenson's present moment of doubts and trouble with new sexual and sentimental relationships, after his divorce with Sue. The gay elements are dealt with an amazing skill and smoothness, even though Poyer keeps telling you Navy gay-jokes to characterize gay-bashing in the force, and all the gay characters are endowned with great dignity. Another narrative line pursues the fate and deeds of a Cuban refugee, Graciela , and her friend from a Cuban village. They all plunge into the sea, heading for the U.S., but Graciela is now pregnant from the first baby-boy of her newly released husband. But now he is dead and she is carrying the baby into a crowded raft that is heading to a storm. Poyer's skills also render the Cuban refugees with dignity and lively personalities, and the overall Cuban situation at the time is also well depicted. Poyer's storytelling strategy its the same already explendidy accomplished in *The Circle*: many different actions are devolping, and the plot is thus not so much tight or too much of an artifice--on the contrary, one feels that life is more like that, full of facts that touches us without much of a purpose. And yet, this is also a novel of sentimental education of Dan Lenson, and he as the main character must also draw from confusing facts whatever lessons are in them. The lessons, of course, are about sentimental, sexual and human love, about death, about stoicism, about commitment, about a personal but painful growth. This is more than well-crafted adventure. Poyer is a true writter of great talent, juggling many different powerfull elements in a strong and touching novel, once again. My only problem is with the end, which falls perhaps a bit too abrubtly into the plot-solutions and heroic deeds we are used to see in techno-thrillers--the very things the author managed to avoid in 90% of the novel. A great reading by all means. Roberto de Sousa Causo, January 5, 1998.

Good beach book, like most short story anthologies some were better than others.

Pretty good
By Alexia
Think I've mentioned before how much I love anthologies. I've discovered several new authors this way, and don't feel cheated if I don't like a particular author, as there's several more to choose from.

The first story in this collection is The Devil's Bargain by Christine Warren. Lilli Corbin made a deal with a devil and all she has to do to finally fulfill the bargain is retrieve an old book. Too bad it's a book of prophecies that will bring about the Apocalypse. This story was just okay for me, and my least favorite. Didn't really warm up to either Lilli or Aaron, the current owner of the book. And while this book is classified as a romance, I thought the sex scene was a little unnecessary.

Next up is The Robber Bride by Marjorie M. Liu. Maggie runs a junkyard in a post-apocalyptic world, on the outskirts of a small settlement of other survivors. Maggie's world is turned upside down when a strange gang of bikers invade her town and make off with several of her neighbors. Concerned for an old friend when she sees one of the bikers with Trace's necklace, she sets off in pursuit. Think this was my second favorite story, as it had interesting characters with a good plot. Loved the twist towards the end, and think Maggie deserves to have a full length novel of her very own!

Third story is Down In The Ground Where The Dead Men Go by Caitlin Kittredge. This one features Jack Winter, the bad boy mage we all know and love. Jack is tricked into helping a sexy demon slayer seek revenge against a demon in the underworld. While I usually like Jack, I didn't really care for this story. Couldn't really get into it, and wasn't really invested in the outcome.

Last but not least is the final story, Sin Slayer by Jenna Maclaine. Think this one was my favorite and I'm looking forward to reading more by Jenna, as she's a new discovery for me. Cin Craven is a vampire witch and a member of The Righteous, a group of vampires who police the vampire world and answer to no one but the High King. Jack the Ripper has started targeting vampires, and it's up to Cin to stop him. And oh yeah, Jack just happens to be a demon who's possessed Cin's husband, Michael. This was a great story with all the action you could possibly want, plus well developed characters that left you wanting more! Very happy to discover that Cin has her own series, as I'm now a fan!

Gave this collection a 4 out of 5, as thought that two of the stories were really, really good, and the remaining two were okay. Definitely worth buying!

Great Anthology
By Leslee Sears
Huntress arrived quite unexpectedly in my mailbox but I was very happy to see it. Caitlin Kittredge had revealed on her blog that a Jack Winter story was waiting for me inside the pages of this anthology. If you haven't read Street Magic, first in the Black London series you might not understand my anticipation. Oops, got distracted by thoughts of Jack. Each story involves a huntress, but each unique.

I must confess that I read Down in the Ground Where the Dead Men Go by Caitlin Kittredge first. We get to see Jack in all his glory before he meets Pete and goes down the dark road of addiction. Very unique story and I was riveted until the end.

Then I went back to the beginning and read Devil's Bargain by Christine Warren. I hadn't read Ms. Warren since she first broke into big time publishing. I enjoyed this story with its geeky hero Aaron Bullard and Lilith Corbin, the huntress. Lilith needs to retrieve a book that Aaron owns to return it to the devil Samael in order to end her bargain with said devil. But it turns out that it isn't just a book and Lilith isn't just a huntress.

The Robber Bride by Marjorie M. Liu was so good, words escape me. I would love LOVE love to see more of these characters. After a horrible virus wipes out a large portion of the population, people make do with what they have, what they can grow, and what they can trade or scavenge. Maggie is a fixer, collecting pieces of civilization that was and making it functional or using the pieces to make something new. One day a strange man on a motorcycle shows up and changes the course of Maggie's existence. In order to save a friend, Maggie sets out to find the man on the motorcycle and finds more that she bargained for.

Amazon.com Review
During his junior year at the University of California, Dan Millman first stumbled upon his mentor (nicknamed Socrates) at an all-night gas station. At the time, Millman hoped to become a world-champion gymnast. "To survive the lessons ahead, you're going to need far more energy than ever before," Socrates warned him that night. "You must cleanse your body of tension, free your mind of stagnant knowledge, and open your heart to the energy of true emotion." From there, the unpredictable Socrates proceeded to teach Millman the "way of the peaceful warrior." At first Socrates shattered every preconceived notion that Millman had about academics, athletics, and achievement. But eventually Millman stopped resisting the lessons, and began to try on a whole new ideology--one that valued being conscious over being smart, and strength in spirit over strength in body. Although the character of the cigarette-smoking Socrates seems like a fictional, modern-day Merlin, Millman asserts that he is based on an actual person. Certain male readers especially appreciate the coming-of-age theme, the haunting love story with the elusive woman Joy, and the challenging of Western beliefs about masculine power and success. --Gail Hudson

Review
"This book is so appealing," commented Virginia Satir, "because it provides an easy access for people to naturally identify, connect and be in touch with the spiritual part of themselves."

Indeed, Way of the Peaceful Warrior does just that with its piercing truths, lively narrative and humorous wisdom. Like Castaneda, it enables the reader to reflect on the deepest questions of life. Yet unlike Don Juan, it spotlights the path to a happy, uncomplicated life without dependency on drugs.

Told with drama and insight, the novel revolves around Dan, a world champion gymnast and student at the University of California at Berkeley. The story begins when Dan meets his powerful 96-year-old mentor Socrates, an all-night gas station attendant.

Guided by this wise old mentor and tempted by an elusive and playful woman named Joy, Dan journeys through everyday reality and metaphysical realms. He travels the paths of flesh and spirit, romance and terror, light and darkness, laughter and magic, learning new ways to see the world and live life fully.

Thematically, this tale of the eternal human quest for the meaning of life is the path of transformation and enlightenment. It uncovers concepts known deep inside but really allowed to wake up and be content with this knowledge. There is no need to search, so just be happy now! Love is the only reality of the world, because it is all One - and the only laws are paradox, humor and change.

After reading Way of the Peaceful Warrior don't tuck it away on a bookshelf to gather dust. Keep it close at hand, and recapture guidance from many of the metaphors sprinkled throughout the story. The secret of happiness, Socrates so aptly points out, is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less. -- Association for Humanistic Psychology Newsletter, July, 1984

Remarkably wise, provocatively humorous, and hauntingly beautiful. It may even change the lives of many who peruse its pages. -- Dr. Stanley Krippner

My two cents
By A Customer
So here's my experience with the book: I first purchased this book when I was 15. And to tell you the truth I don't recall why. And I read it in one sitting. I came away from the reading with a sense of "Wow, that's really amazing. That was a really cool book." However I did NOT feel that the book lived up to it's subtitle "The Book that Changes Lives" In fact I thought it was a practice in pretension to label it as Millman did. And I put the book away and forgot about it...(dramatic pause)... or so I thought (BUM BUM BUM). You see it wasn't until I was 17 or so that I began to realize that the book had made a grand impact on my life. I realized that I was seeing the world in a completely different way... that I was learning to "let things go" to have fewer expectations from life and enjoying more what life was giving me. And through practice (which probably will continue for the rest of my life, these changes have continued and refined themselves in the years following this revelation. Of course a portion of these changes are due to me simply maturing and evolving as a person from age 15 to present. The book however set me on the right path for who I am and who I am to become as time goes on. My path may be differnt than yours- and I think that's the point and the reason that the reviews on this site are either very high or very low. For some this book resonates on a deep level and for others they see only the words. This is not to put value judgements on "getting it" or "not getting it". This bok is only one of the paths that leads to wherever it is that we are all headed as humanity. Each of us, (if i may be allowed a new age moment), is a person "becoming" and at different rates. It is not a question of is this book is right or wrong, it is a question of whether this book is right or wrong for whom. In this case that "whom" is you... and there is only one way to find out and that is to read it for yourself.

Way to Unreasonable Happiness
By Alessandra G.
Dan Millman's book, The Way of the Peaceful Warrior, is an amazing journey of self-discovery and enlightenment. It was a very fluid read and an eye-opening experience. The author unveils that the way to Happiness is by being present along the journey. Every step of the journey is important. There are no ordinary moments. There is in actuality no hierarchy, just the illusion based on our preference. So our college graduation is not intrinsically better than the last day of vacation or garbage recycling day or even this very moment. It all matters, because "the Essence of Aliveness matters; the details do not."
Beneath all circumstances, thoughts & emotions lies "the innate perfection of one's life unfolding. That is the secret of unreasonable happiness."
Another book I love that delves into the magic available in each moment as it unfolds is Being Here: Modern Day Tales of Enlightenment. Authors Ariel and Shaya Kane explain that if you trade in your preferences for the willingness to be in each moment as it actually is, you will be rewarded with extraordinary well-being. Since reading these works I have had many examples of "unreasonable happiness" in my own life.
A recent 6+ hour wait in an airport in Costa Rica, which ended with a cancelled flight and an unexpected overnight stay, became a delightful adventure and an opportunity to set aside my preferences and have well-being. One had only to look at the faces of other passengers to see that this was not the common response to the situation. But as I have begun to engage in each moment, without prejudice, my life has opened up to unexpected sources of actual joy & well-being.

A Westerner's Guide to Zen Buddhism
By theblackrabbitofinle
This book is not new material. I wouldn't say it is groundbreaking or that it changed my life. Probably because I am already acquainted with the principles of Buddhism and Eastern thinking. So I didn't find anything new here that would give me a "wow" factor like all the other reviews claim. What I did find is that it presents the ideology in a down-to-earth, real-life format, thus making it easy for one to understand how to apply the principles to one's own life. The character of Socrates, the teacher, is lovable and so well done that you really feel he's there with you. The storyline is well put together. Parts of it were taken from the author's own life and some were created, but they are seamlessly intertwined. The story flows and the book is a quick read. Millman also incorporates Plato's allegory of the cave and some zen koans within the plot to help enlighten you on some of the points that are presented. I already knew about Plato's allegory and some of the zen koans from before, they are classics, so they were not new to me but I did enjoy seeing how they were applied to the main storyline.

And now for the criticism. There were two things I didn't like about this book.

1. How little time or explanation Millman incorporates about his failed marriage and daughter. It just seems like a hiccup in his life. And that is why I believe Zen can only take you so far. I believe there is more to life than just letting everything go. What about forming relationships? What about atoning for your actions? If you hurt someone, it is not enough for you to realize it and let it go, you have to take action. At least seek forgiveness, let the person know you made a mistake and that you are sorry. Zen just seems to put you in a bubble and the truth is, we all are not solitary monks. We constantly interact with people, which brings me to point #2.

2. The author tries to breeze through the subject of altruism by making a couple of statements here and there. Apparently, learning to be a happy person by not wanting anything makes you care for others. I didn't buy it. The author doesn't really explain or give examples as to how achieving enlightenment will make you care for others. As a matter of fact, he even relates an anecdote in which he got upset when a homeless man asked him for money. He justifies his reaction buy just saying that all one has to do is just let it go. What about realizing that the anger was a result of the guilt of not giving the man any money? Again, the problem with Zen. It's great for learning how to be happy if you live in a bubble, but it doesn't give you guidelines on how your relationship to others should be. It only focuses on the self. That's kinda selfish when you think about it. There has to be more to life than just attaining your own enlightenment. What about putting that enlightenment into action by helping others and being a compassionate person?

Overall, this is a good quick read. It might be beneficial for unenlightened souls. But for those who are already on the path, it's nothing to rave about.

Inconsistent
By Bernie Margolis
Wizard's First Rule is one of the best books I have ever read. Unfortunately, the quality of its sucessors seems to decrease with each new book.
Wizard's First Rule introduced us to Richard, a forest guide-turned savior. Richard's struggle to maintain his identity while everything around him turned to Chaos was endearing. Throw in the wise, benevolent grandfather, an evil step brother, an evil step father, some unrequited love and stir. The result is quite pleasant.
Stone of Tears was a sloppy continuation to a tidy story. The plot seems to have been forced into the story as an afterthought. Numerous side trips and subquests make this a book that is far from memorable. Several plot devices which made the first story so enjoyable are eradicated and/or contradicted in this one. In short, I wish I had stopped reading at the end of the first book.
In Blood of the Fold, Goodkind had run out of stuff to write about. We had tired of Darken Rahl by now, so he introduced another baddie. There's nothing like completely shifting the focal point of a series to spice things up, right? If the disguised Aes Sedai with their collared male channelers from the previous book didn't infringe on Robert Jordan's intellectual property, then the White Cloaks in this book (under the guise of The Blood of the Fold) certainly did.
Well, Darken Rahl's soul hadn't been utterly destroyed yet, so he sent another son out to terrorize Richard in Temple of the Winds. Richard and Kahlan's romance had progressed from the level of friendship and respect to the level best understood by observing a couple fifteen year-olds in the back of Dad's Chevy. All of the restrictions and obstacles that made Wizard's First Rule so engaging are cast aside. I'm sorry that this book was ever written.
I gave up by the time Soul of the Fire came out. The story wasn't going anywhere, and I couldn't stomach any more of Richard and Kahlan's conversations. I read an excerpt from this book and decided my time and money would be better spent elsewhere. Killer chickens were just too comical for a series that fringes on the melodramatic.
In short, I highly recommend the first book, but I wouldn't bother with the rest of the series. Terry Goodkind is a good writer (only a good writer could have produced a book as good as Wizard's First Rule), but his latest efforts have gone astray.

The Sword Of Truth Books Review
By Marek
I have read the 5 books that are avaiable at the moment And I have to say that when I read 1st title (Wizard's First Rule) and Finished it in the middle of the night I could not wait till morning so that I can go and Buy the reast of the titles to continue the saga. I was truly amazed with the authors way of stimulating a full range of the emotions. Mostly how he can make the story go from sad to miserable and then make it more depresing still, gets the reader glued to the books so that he or she can find out how the caracters in the story can get out of the strive they are in; and then keep the reader like my selfe hanging for the next book to be published so that i can get my hends on it, read it and maybe relax with the knowledge that the caracters (one can't help, but to fall in love with) conquer their troubles and get to life their lifes the way they hope to. Nowing the Author it will be a whille. Truelly Looking Forward to the book 6. whenever that may be.
I recomend these books to any true fantasy lover and garenty thay will love it as much as I did.
( Sorry for any speling errors but English is New To me. )

Tolkien Finally Has Competition
By Rachel
These series of books show the brilliant and creative imagination of Mr. Goodkind. I found myself unable to place the book down. His intriguing and descriptive usage of words, pull you in from the first to the last page.
These books display a mixture of fantasy, mystery, and suspense. Towards the end of any of these five books, you think you have finally solved the puzzle, when out of no where, Goodkind adds another detail and the puzzle--you realize--is now missing pieces. Once again, you must put your mind to the test and rearrange the characters, conditions, and settings. At times, these books are very contradicting!
Throughout the series, Kahlan Amnell, Richard Cypher(Rahl)--a once quiet and modest woodsman, and Zedd--the last of great wizards--stand together to battle evil and protect the innocent throughout the lands of Westland, the Midlands, and D'Hara. During their journey's, Richard discovers many dark secrets of his past and is named the Seeker.
The Seeker carries the Sword of Truth--now you understand where the series' title comes from--and searches in the name of truth. Richard travels to D'Hara and the People's Palace primarily to stop Darken Rahl and to destroy the boxes of Orden. In each of the series, things turn out as hoped, but other things fail. At the end of every book, you want to run to the library and pick up the sequel in order to find out what happens. Only to your dismay, after reading all the five released books, more incidents happen you must wait patiently for Mr. Goodkind to write the next book in the series!
Though some argue that Mr. Goodkind's books tend to be on the graphic side, I tend to think that because they are graphic, it means Mr. Goodkind has been able to place words in such a way, we are able to picture what he is writing. Only talented writers such J.R.R. Tolkien and Terry Goodkind are able to make the words flow with such intensity.

Janet Evanovich Boxed Set 4 (10, 11, 12): Ten Big Ones, Eleven on Top, and Twelve Sharp (Stephanie Plum Novels), by Janet Evanovich

This boxed set contains three hilarious novels from bestselling author Janet Evanovich: Ten Big Ones, Eleven on Top, and Twelve Sharp.

Ten Big Ones
She's accidentally destroyed a dozen cars. She's a target for every psycho and miscreant this side of the Jersey Turnpike. He mother's convinced she'll end up dead...or worse, without a man. She's Stephanie Plum and she kicks butt for a living (well, she thought it would sound good to put it that way...)

It begins as an innocent trip to the deli-mart, on a quest for nachos. But Stephanie Plum and her partner, Lula, are clearly in the wrong place at the wrong time. A robbery leads to an explosion, which leads to the destruction of yet another car. It would be just another day in the life of Stephanie Plum...except that she becomes the target of a gang. And the target of an even scarier, more dangerous force that comes to Trenton. With super bounty hunter Ranger out of town (and Stephanie on the outs with vice cop Morelli), she finds herself alone, with a decision to make: how to protect herself and where to hide while on the hunt for a killer known as the Junkman. There's only one safe place, and it has Ranger's name all over it-if she can find it. And if the Junkman doesn't find her first. With Lula riding shotgun and Grandma Mazur on the loose, Stephanie Plum is racing against the clock in her most suspenseful novel yet. Ten Big Ones is page-turning entertainment and Janet Evanovich is the best there is.

Eleven on Top
Stephanie Plum is thinking her career as a fugitive apprehension agent has run its course. She's been shot at, spat at, cussed at, fire-bombed, mooned, and attacked by dogs. Stephanie thinks it's time for a change. So she quits. She wants something safe and normal. But the kind of trouble she had at the bail bonds office can't compare to the kind of trouble she finds herself facing now…

Stephanie is stalked by a maniac returned from the grave for the sole purpose of putting her into a burial plot of her own. He's killed before, and he'll kill again if given the chance. Caught between staying far away from the bounty hunter business and staying alive, Stephanie reexamines her life and the possibility that being a bounty hunter is the solution rather than the problem. After disturbingly brief careers at the button factory, Kan Klean Dry Cleaners, and Cluck-in-a-Bucket, Stephanie takes an office position in security, working for Ranger, the sexiest, baddest bounty hunter and businessman on two continents. Tempers and temperatures rise as competition ratchets up between the two men in her life―her on-again, off-again boyfriend, tough Trenton cop Joe Morelli, and her boss, Ranger. Can Stephanie Plum take the heat? Can you?

Twelve Sharp
While chasing down the usual cast of miscreants and weirdos, Stephanie discovers that a crazed woman is stalking her. The woman dresses in black, carries a 9mm Glock, and has a bad attitude and a mysterious connection to dark and dangerous Carlos Manoso …street name, Ranger. The action turns deadly serious, and Stephanie goes from hunting skips to hunting a murderer.

Ranger needs Stephanie for more reasons than he can say. And now, the two are working together to find a killer, rescue a missing child, and stop a lunatic from raising the body count. When Stephanie Plum and Ranger get too close for comfort, vice cop Joe Morelli (her on-again, off-again boyfriend) steps in. Will the ticking clock stop at the stroke of twelve…or will a stranger in the wind find a way to stop Stephanie Plum…forever?

Janet Evanovich is the author of the Stephanie Plum books, including One for the Money and Sizzling Sixteen, and the Diesel & Tucker series, including Wicked Appetite. Janet studied painting at Douglass College, but that art form never quite fit, and she soon moved on to writing stories. She didn't have instant success: she collected a big box of rejection letters. As she puts it, "When the box was full I burned the whole damn thing, crammed myself into pantyhose and went to work for a temp agency." But after a few months of secretarial work, she managed to sell her first novel for $2,000. She immediately quit her job and started working full-time as a writer. After a dozen romance novels, she switched to mystery, and created Stephanie Plum. The rest is history. Janet's favorite exercise is shopping, and her drug of choice is Cheeze Doodles. She and her husband live in New Hampshire, in house with a view of the Connecticut River Valley.

By the time I get toward the end of a series, my interest wanes. Not so with the Stephanie Plum novels. I must admit, though, that I enjoyed them best if I read one and then waited a while before reading the next. It was like revisiting an old friend. I found myself in Stephanie in so many ways! I also appreciated the quick delivery!

Entertaining

I have now read all of the Plum books. Some are great, some are just okay, but the characters literally make you laugh out loud which is great medicine in a stressful life:)
